Music, media and the arts can do more than entertain. They can communicate, fascinate, inform, engage, inspire and cultivate innovation. Education without the arts is like a story without context or a picture without any texture or color.

As governments all around the world struggle to confront the current economic crisis, our schools, educational and cultural institutions have been trampled by a wave of budget cuts, institutional mandates, layoffs and program reductions. Music, media and art programs are often the first to go. It is somewhat ironic that as our economy has become more and more dependent upon innovation, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, our most creative and artistic scholastic activities have been reduced, eliminated, defunded or otherwise relegated to non-academic extracurricular after school activities.

The business, artistic, creativity and institutional communities have come together to help restore the creativity, innovation and excitement of art, media and music to our schools.

The CoolUp Our Schools program is a three pronged campaign:

To bolster and support art, media and music education in our schools,
To expose students to an ever growing library of creative, cultural and artistic inspiration, programming, and training media,

To use artistic activities, creative media and new technologies to infuse the classroom experience with engaging, exciting and captivating fun.

February is CoolUp The Environment Month

On February 19th, at the Heal The Bay Aquarium on the Santa Monica Pier CoolUp.TV will launch our new CoolUp The Environment program. To celebrate whale watching weekend and commemorate the introduction of several exciting new initiatives, Heal The Bay and CoolUp.TV will throw a Whale of a Cool Party featuring live music, magic, shows, arts and crafts, video presentations, competitions and games. Everyone is inviting to this fun event for the whole family.
